How Paragon Motor Co got 5.7× more Google reviews

Used car dealer Google reviews tend to arrive slowly: for most independents, it’s one or two a month, if that. Paragon Motor Co, a used car dealer on Lynn Road in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, was no different until May 2024, when they started giving customers our handover review packs, with each pack asking for a Google review. Here is what happened to their Google reviews over the next two years.
5.7 times as many Google reviews, and the average rating went up slightly, from 4.83 to 4.86 stars. In the latest 12 months Paragon received 112 new reviews, more than in all of 2016 to 2021 put together (90).

New Google reviews per month
Before May 2024 Paragon averaged just over one Google review a month, and some months had none. Reviews rose as soon as the packs arrived and have stayed high since, peaking at 16 in March 2026. Hover over a bar to see the numbers.

The dashed line uses the before-period rate of 1.25 reviews a month (30 reviews in 24 months). The 12 months just before May 2024 were slower, at 1.1 a month, so if anything the line is set a little high.

What this shows about used car dealer Google reviews
Reviews rose as soon as the packs arrived
In the 12 months before May 2024 Paragon received 13 Google reviews. In the first 12 months with the packs it received 67, and the rate has kept climbing, to 9.3 a month over the latest 12 months.
Customers mention the pack in their reviews
37 five-star reviews since May 2024 mention the thank-you box, gift pack or hamper customers receive at handover. No review before May 2024 mentions one.
Almost every review now says something
97% of reviews since May 2024 include a written comment, up from 67% before. A written review tells the next buyer far more than a star rating on its own.
More reviews, same high rating
The first 24 months with the packs averaged 4.86 stars, against 4.83 before, and the share of 1 and 2-star reviews stayed at about 3%. Paragon’s public Google rating is 4.8.

How we measured this
- We collected all 339 public reviews on Paragon Motor Co’s Google Business Profile on 25 September 2026, using the exact date Google records for each review rather than the rounded “2 years ago” label shown on Maps.
- The star breakdown matches Google’s own count: 316 five-star, 11 four-star, 2 three-star, 2 two-star and 8 one-star.
- Google doesn’t show which reviews came from an invitation, so the figures compare the periods before and after May 2024 by date. Reviews that Google or the reviewer has removed are not included.
