Fish Motors is an independent used car dealer on Bury New Road in Bolton. They started using our handover review packs in October 2024, asking customers for Google reviews. In May 2025 we split the requests between Google and Trustpilot. Here is what happened to their public reviews.
Twice as many reviews a year, with ratings still at 4.8 stars on both sites. Google reviews are up 70% and Trustpilot reviews have tripled.

Monthly reviews started rising in October 2024. After the May 2025 split, Trustpilot became a steady second source. Hover over a bar to see the numbers.

The solid line is Fish Motors’ actual review total. The dashed line shows the total if reviews had kept coming at the rate of the 12 months before they joined us.
The dashed line uses the before-period rate of 6.7 Google and 2.1 Trustpilot reviews a month. That period includes an unusually busy September 2024, so the line is if anything set a little high.

What the numbers show
Google reviews doubled straight away
Before, Fish Motors averaged 6.7 Google reviews a month. From October 2024 to April 2025 that rose to 13.4, and the share of 5-star Google reviews went from 90% to 98%.
Adding Trustpilot kept Google strong
After the May 2025 split, Google settled at 11.3 reviews a month, still 1.7 times the old rate. Trustpilot rose from about 2 a month to 6.5. Together that’s 17.8 reviews a month, up from 8.8.
Invited reviews were all 5 stars
Trustpilot labels reviews that came from an invitation. Since May 2025, all 73 invited reviews are 5 stars.
More reviews, same high rating
Reviews since May 2025 average 4.82 on Google and 4.75 on Trustpilot, and both public scores are 4.8.
How we measured this
- We collected every public review on Fish Motors’ Google Business Profile and Trustpilot page on 25 September 2026, using the date each review was posted.
- Google doesn’t show which reviews came from an invitation, so the Google figures compare the periods before and after by date.
- Trustpilot hides a few reviews from public view, so 150 of its 153 reviews are counted.
